Set on 42 acres of beautiful rolling hills with flat sites, Walnut Hills Family Campground is proudly operated by GatherGrounds Resorts and is our flagship location. Walnut Hills has undergone dozens of modernization projects over the past few years and is everything you can hope for in a Michigan campground.
With a Wibit water park, beach, swimming lake, recently renovated bathrooms and showers, campground store, several playgrounds, a large dog park, sand volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, gaga ball pit, game room, ball field, and family and kid friendly events at our pavilions every weekend, Walnut Hills Family Campground has all the amenities and activities to help our customers make lifelong memories with family and friends!
Walnut Hills Family Campground also features float trips down the Shiawassee River for canoes, kayaks, or tubes. Floating the Shiawassee is a popular activity for folks who want to experience nature at it’s finest, but don’t want to drive several hours to get to the Rifle River or Northern Michigan Campgrounds.

Set on 74 acres of lakeside property, Ridge Ranch Campground was taken over by GatherGrounds Resorts in September of 2025.
We’re currently undergoing a large amount of renovations at Ridge Ranch and have future plans for a Wibit water park, renovated swimming beach, new bathroom and shower building, upgraded campground store, arcade, new playgrounds, a large dog park, sand volleyball, renovations to the basketball court, horseshoes, a new gaga ball pit, kayak & SUP paddle-board rentals, and family and kid friendly events at our pavilions every weekend, Ridge Ranch Campground is quickly on its way to becoming a place you can make incredible memories with your family!
Ridge Ranch Campground is located near Interstate-80 which is also known as The Ohio Turnpike. As this is a major east/west corridor, Ridge Ranch Campground has all the amenities and attractions for it to be a great place to spend an extended stay with your family, or to stop off at for a night or two as you travel across the country.

With 160 total acres and 120 of which having forested riding trails for mountain biking enthusiasts or golf cart leisure riders, The Oaks Campground is the most nature forward campground in the GatherGrounds portfolio of properties.
The Oaks Campground is located alongside the Waterloo State Recreation Area, is a 9 minute drive to the public boat ramp at Portage Lake which is an all sports lake, and is next to the Haehnle Sanctuary which is a popular bird sanctuary and bird watchers paradise! This makes The Oaks an incredible location for both on premise activities or venturing out to major landmarks that draw hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.
With a Wibit water park planned for the 2026 season, a renovated swimming beach, an on premise fishing lake, and updates planned to the bathrooms and showers, The Oaks Campground is not only going to have great natural features on and around the property, but will incorporate modern amenities and fun to the natural landscape. The Oaks has a campground store, several playgrounds, plenty of designated acres for pets to roam, sand volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, a gaga ball pit, and family and kid friendly events at our pavilions every weekend.

GatherGrounds Resorts is a professional campground management company and ownership group. We are growing in the upper midwest states and actively adding locations.
What GatherGrounds does:
As GatherGrounds Resorts we focus on acquiring quality properties that have incredible natural features and a history of family memories. We then add high end, modern amenities and perform any necessary infrastructure renovations to ensure the ultimate camping experience. Along with improving the offerings at our campgrounds, we implement our “GatherGrounds experience” customer service model. As we bring on new properties, it is typically a 2-3 year process to add all the features, amenities, events, staffing, processes, and offerings.
